So now that I have a 1m dish pointed to G10R sitting on the mount designed for my 6' mesh dish, could I take the 1m off, put the 6' on, strap on the corotor II and pick up the Ku stuff as well as the C-band stuff on G-10 ( I guess just the outdoor channel) on my Pansat 3500? Using I diseqc switch I'm guessing to switch between C and Ku? And if so, why didn't I do this in the first place????
Ah yes, because its fun to do things the slow and experimental way!

Yes, probably. The only thing holding you pack is the performance of the mesh dish on Ku. Some mesh dishes perform well and some don't...depends on the size of the holes in the mesh. If they're too big, it won't work well, maybe even not at all. I'd put good money that the 1m will perform better on Ku. But, if your signals are strong enough with the 6 footer on Ku, then it really won't matter.

I'd go for it, it is alot of fun experimenting, with different dishes and etc.
all satelite guys usually want that quality a little better here, and a little better there, with every tweak or turn of a bolt. We always are thinking of a way to get
more out of our systems, trees usually plays a big part in it, a bad thing.
good luck

If one, like maybe the 1m, is an offset dish, while the other, like maybe the 6' mesh, is a prime focus dish, you will have to adjust the elevation when you change it. If both are offset or both are prime focus, it should already be set pretty close. I would think?

I actually settled upon putting the corotor II on the 1m dish to see if I could scoop up any C-band with that. I did get some signal on Ku, about 45 quality on a few transponders where I was getting mid 70s with the strictly Ku single lnb that I had been using. I decided that the marginal signal on Ku was probably a good indicator that the C-band side would be similarly bad............and it was.......well it was non-existent. Not sure if it was a defective LNB or..........wait a minute, I think thats why I quit using that one. Damn........well that's a project for another day.
I did however confirm that two other LNBs that I have worked properly, another single and a single stacked. I settled on the single stacked LNB and tweaked the dish so I had 99 quality on 3 of the transponders on G10R. So all in all it was not a bad experiment.
