As I am an avid Mets fan, I have been reveling with delight at being able to see the games in HD on SNY. I have also tuned to the Yankee games on YES and have noticed a few things:

1.) Though the PQ on SNY is very good...YES seems to be a bit better.
2.) SNY (I believe) is in DD/2.0 whereas YES is in DD/5.1
3.) SNY HD is promoted/generated by IO Digital cable, whereas YES is affliated with DirecTV.

Any correlation here?

YES-HD is actually promoting Opimium Online usually. DIRECTV does offer "YES Interactive", but their partner appears to be Optimum to me.

1) As a Mets fan, I have no problem saying that of all the MLB HD broadcasts I've seen, YES-HD is the standard bearer.
2) Shameful, but I can't actually confirm since I'm usually listening to music and use CC for play-by-play.
3) I believe Comcast and Time-Warner are part owners of SNY.
