SNG Newbie, Help Plz

Dear All
I am newbie in the SNG world, can you help me by providing me with documents showing the parameters that is set in the Encoder and the Modulator i have a basic knowledge about the SNG and how it works, but i am not proffesional regarding issues like the
PCR, ViPID , ROLL factor, GPO i want to know as much as i can about those factors and the other parameters, any documents would be useful.
