The SVOD space got crowded with more critters today with Smithsonian Networks’ launch of its new streaming service Smithsonian Earth, dedicated to original nature and wildlife content.

Toronto-based Blue Ant International’s Smithsonian Earth video streaming channel, is investing in a joint-venture full-UHD production ‘Camp Zambia’. Blue Ant’s partner in the project is Plimsoll Productions, and the plan calls for some 50 hours of stunning wildlife and nature programming from a new production facility in Zambia.
