I had my D* install a few weeks ago and I was woundering if the installer put the Power inserter in the wrong placement in the system.

Dish -- 4 way Splitter --- Port 1 --- Power inserter --- Hr21

a few pics i have seen place the power inserter Like this

any sugestions on witch way it should be or if it even matters?

As long as the splitter he used is a "power pass on port 1" splitter, it doesn't really matter.
Personally, I would always try to put the PI between the dish & splitter, but maybe in your case, he couldn't do that? (maybe) The only thing that would concern you, is that if you need to change any of those connections for any reason, would be to make SURE you put the PI back on the same port. (lest you burn out your receivers by improperly connecting things back up...)

I have all my stuff setup in the garage. my power inserter for dish network was in there. i think i will move it..
