I'd like to see an active thread here where SA IPTV subscribers post what programming they especially like. A comment might help someone else discover a real treasure! The thread may also help people who are "checking out" Sky Angel and want to know what current users watch/listen to.
Additionally, if you view a TV program on a faith channel that really blesses you, please take a moment to post a note here so others can be sure to watch it while it's still available in the 48-hour go-back window.
My favorites:
TV:
- Every Day with Marcus and Lisa - FamilyNet, M-F mornings (and other rebroadcast times)
- Mornings (listed as Morningside) - FamilyNet, M-F mornings; simulcast on Sirius; great alternative to secular network morning programs.
- Aspiring Women - Total Living Network and FamilyNet, various times; interviews/testimonies
- Faith and Fame - Gospel Music Network, various times; testimonies/bios of Christian artists
- Front Row Live - Gospel Music Network - concerts
- Gaither Homecoming - on many times during the week on various channels
- Some favorite teaching programs: In Touch, Life on the Edge, Thomas Road, Joyce Meyer - available at various times on various channels
- Gospel Music Television - southern gospel videos, with commercials - I never watch "live," instead choose a previous time slot so I can skip over commercials
Radio:
- Oasis Network - great variety of music; can reference a minute-by-minute listing of music titles/artists at their website
- Moody - excellent teaching programs; Prime Time America - 4:00 CDT
- Bott - excellent teaching programs, no music
- America's Talk Satellite - like Janet Parshall best; particularly interesting programming during this election year
- Solid Gospel - southern gospel music, but lots of commercials
- Call to Worship - KTLW, Sunday mornings - wonderful "preparation for worship" program I listen to while I am getting ready for church each week
I also enjoyed the recent TBN rebroadcast of their tribute to Dottie Rambo.
I make it first priority to catch favorite radio broadcasts since I cannot "go back" for those. I like to end my day by searching out 1-2 good TV broadcasts in the "go back" mode.
As I keep mentioning, I have multiplied the value of Sky Angel by adding a $100 FM transmitter that sends SA audio to every radio in my house, garage, or yard. I also bought an extra SA remote and purchased a remote extender. That allows me to turn SA on/off and change channels from anywhere in my house. Comes in especially handy overnight if I can't sleep -- I can turn SA on and change channels from my bed.
Other ways I make SA work better for me:
- I took time to set up a "Favorites" program guide at the Sky Angel site. After I sign in, I can keep it minimized on my Windows taskbar and reference it all day long. The personalized guide displays only channels I actually watch, and channels can be displayed in whatever order I choose.
- I used my ListPro software to set up a quick-reference guide to what my favorite programs are during each time slot during the day (with channel name/number). It took some work to set it up, but now I can pop that up any time and quickly see the 1-3 programs I would likely choose from all the offerings during that time slot. (I loved that our old DBS service allowed tuner settings -- whenever I turned SA on during the day, my program of choice was already tuned in!)
- I set up a SA folder in my Internet favorites and added links to all my favorite SA TV/radio channels.
Yes, I know I am a bit OCD about this. I don't want to just aimlessly roam around in all the SA choices -- I want to make sure I am getting real value from having it, catching the "gems" that are there every day!
Would enjoy reading others' comments about favorite programming and ways you are maximizing your enjoyment of Sky Angel IPTV programming.
