Skew question

I'm in a similiar situation.

Hey everyone,
I'm in a similar situation with a traxis 1500. My Friend bought this dish and receiver from North Carolina. In North Carolinia it was receving channels from Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen and Kuwait. I installed it it on his roof in Knoxville Tennessee and I used a Stern dual channel meter. I saw on the sat. list (on the receiver) "intelsat5". I assumed that was the sat to point at. I looked up the AZ/EL and got 201.5 AZ 46 EL and 17.3 Tilt. This dish doesn't have a tilt it just is a single LNB. I peaked out a sat w/ the Sterns meter and the receiver does its channel search and says "No Channell Available" Please help. Do I need a different kind of meter to find FTA? I use this meter for Dish, And directv with no problems.

The meter you have will ALWAYS pull you to the MUCH stronger DBS satellites, you would need a positive satellite ID meter (See SatelliteAV's advert at the top of this page) , or as most members here use, a LIVE transponder ansd the signal QUALITY meter on the receiver.

The LNBF will need skewed!

Thanks for the info. On the arm that holds the lnb, I need to turn it 17 degrees? it looks stationary to me.

Loosen the LNBF in its holder and rotate, sometimes there are bolts on the back of the dish and the whole dish will skew!
