The availability of SiriusXM is one of the reasons I continue to subscribe to DISH. As I don't subscribe to Sirius directly I don't know what might be available. I particularly like the Firstwave, bluegrass and classical stations. Firstwave has some DJs from WLIR/DRE in Long Island which I listened to back in the eighties. I find it odd that they have only three classical channels while having what seems to be many more varieties of Rap/Hip Hop.

With the Pandora app on the Hopper/Joey I don't even bother to listen to the Sirius channels anymore. I'd rather listen to my Pandora "stations"

I only ever listen to one SXM channel which is on both services. I subscribe to the À la carte package. I like the idea of a real life human on the other end.

Blugras, I look at what we have from Sirius/XM as a great perk for Dish subs. But if you need to go deeper into their offerings, pay up and sub, and not beg/solicit for Dish or SXM to GIVE IT YOU!

no I do not want them in hd there is not such a thing we have room for 23 more new siriusxm music channels.i counted on the pdf file for siriusxm there are 31 music channels so I hope that add them. Thanks

I really DO feel SO sorry for the poor E* CSR's that have the misfortune to get him; you KNOW he's calling E* incessantly about this bull$hit...

Blue - your friggen meds are NOT working...

I, too, am glad to have the XM channels on Dish. I was very disappointed when DirecTV dropped them while I was their customer.

I was also able to cancel my XM car radio subscription, because I can use the DishAnywhere app on my phone to tune the XM stations in for my car. Money saver!

I'd like to see what happens with the music landscape now that Mood Media appears to be replacing a couple of the DMX/Sonic Tap channels with Muzak channels.

I'm wondering if they'll also replace some of the Muzak channels with Sonic Tap channels. Sonic Tap can't be all bad, can it?

Speaking of Muzak channels, does Dish still host the Muzak business-only stations (i.e., Foreground Music One)? I knew there were at least a few channels that weren't available to residential subs but were available to business customers (I learned this years ago when I worked for Wendy's in high school and we had a Dish receiver).

Hmmm...thats an interesting approach. How does the sound quality compare to the in-car XM radio when you had it? I know the Dish versions of the channels when played on TV are generally better sound quality than actually listening via the SiriusXM service...but how well does the sound quality translate through DishAnywhere?

The quality is good. I have a Samsung GS4 on the Sprint network and it's mostly 4G LTE in my area, so I have good coverage.

There are a handful of linear channels that DISH doesn't offer residential customers but I have to assume that DISH is still hosting Muzak for those customers that haven't switched to cellular reception.

How much data usage on the phone when using Dish Anywhere for XM radio????

Well, I'm on 3G right now running the XM Hits 1 channel for testing purposes. It's streaming in "HD mode" at 1200 kbps. Depending on where I stand, it drops a bit to 1100 kbps. If I put it in SD or audio only mode, the stream drops to about 49 kbps. Very good quality output on HD mode. I definitely wouldn't try this unless I had an unlimited data plan (which I do). Sprint has a new plan I just signed up for; it's $50 per month plus $30 for unlimited data. I have AAA, so I get a 10% discount for that, so it comes out to about $77 per month. Not too bad, IMO, for all the streaming I do.
