SIRBB3 Boombox vs standard Home Dock??

Got a PNP3 unit free (AR) from compusa, but need a dock for it, was considering just getting the SIRBB3 boombox thing and using it in the house (in place of the home dock) is there any disadvantage to doing this?

Will the boombox antenna work as well as the home dock antenna?

To me it seemed like a better choice for a bit more $$$ to just get the boombox for home use then its more portable too yet wondered if anyone uses a boombox for the sole home dock solution and if so are there any downfalls to doing this.

Both use the same antenna. The only difference is that the home dock is not as portable as the boom box.
