Here are some signal quality levels I measured just now. I'm using the Winegard 30" dish on SG2100 motor, DMS International standard Ku LNB with 55dB gain and 0.5dB noise, and Pansat 2500A. I just looked at where the signal seems to stay most of the time, rounded to the nearest 5%. Hopefully others would feel compelled to list their setup and numbers so we could compare and see who might have a little work to do. ;) Disclaimer: I got decent quality readings when I first set all the angles/etc. and haven't tweaked anything yet to improve things so mine aren't necessarily the best values.

What is your true south satellite from the list?

RJB

Well, AMC 9 at 85 would be it but there's not much if anything on that full time so I used AMC 3 at 87.

Here are just a few from a Pansat 1500, DMSI motor, winegard 30" dish and old ExpressVu LNBF

Galaxy 10
11719 is around 65
11799 is a round 75-79

Your far east stations (AMC5 & SBS6) are ungodly low
AMC5 is around 65-70
SBS6 (ONN) is 75

T6 is my southern sat

most of the others are around those of TuxCoder

I agree my east sats are very low. My next door neighbor's house is at a funny angle (corner house) that's kind of where the dish would be looking and there are some fairly tall trees but they are some reasonable distance away. ONN actually, for having only 15 or so, does not hiccup the sound or "block" (pixellate, or "digitize" :D) in the video.

Empire Sports on AMC-5 does not even stabilize enough to show a picture or give any sound. I for some reason didn't list its transponder but I believe it comes in around 25.

As soon as I get the remote control extender to keep things simple and not have to move the receiver, etc., I'll hop back up there and tweak the dish to try to correct that. My bedroom window looks out over the garage, right at the dish so I can just put that TV (and the extender's transmitter) in front of the window.

It's pretty much useless when one compares signal strength/quality between different model/brand. Each model/brand uses different formular to calculate signal strength/quality.

That's right, which is why I specifically listed not only my receiver model and brand (in some cases, brand alone is enough...) but I also included my dish and LNB type, and the fact that I am using a motor. The noise factor of the LNB can make a big difference. The dish type may only make a minor difference in most cases.

my pansat 2500 A running 75cm patriot with 0.6 ku dish express vu lnb (old linear style), with a dms international 2x1 diseqc with an sg-2100 motor and rca in line amp between diseqc switch and output of the dish motor. Here are some of my signal observations from Charleston WV with clear weather (no clouds) or rain.

Galaxy 10R:

tp. 11920V SR: 28066 No Signal
tp. 11799V SR: 26660 Level 89% Quality 72-75%
tp. 11805V SR: 4580 Level 84% Quality 89-90%
tp 12114V SR: 4444 Level 82% Quality 99%
tp. 11951V SR: 13838 Level 85% Quality 60%
tp. 11775V SR: 6660 Level 85% Quality 99%
tp. 12035V SR: 19125 Level 85% Quality bouncing 44%-60%
tp. 12053V SR: 6750 Level 82% Quality 48-55% Bouncing
tp. 11718V SR: 27690 Level 86% Quality 48-59% bouncing around badly.

Note: the above mentioned tp 11718V is bouncing severly and sometimes as low as 10% quality. the receiver is locking and unlocking on this transponder. on Tube tv and other channels on this tp, pixalization and audio breakup are bad. is any other memebers experiencing this now?
