When Frontier RV Resort needed help, they reached out to the experts! Signal Connect was able to completely overhaul their internet infrastructure not once, but twice! After years of being “behind the times,” they are now the local leader in providing great tech to the RVs in their park.
Bill Fischer of Frontier RV Resort reached out to Signal Connect in 2021 to get help setting up a park-wide Wi-Fi system. Visitors to the park often complain about poor cell service at the park, and park-wide Wi-Fi is the best answer in cases like that. Robert Young, Enterprise Sales Lead, took the call.
It wasn’t long before Robert realized the real problem: their existing internet wasn’t going to be able to keep up with increased traffic from Wi-Fi. After researching several options, Robert found a local provider of Dedicated Fiber Internet who already had a relationship with Signal Connect. We were able to negotiate with the internet provider so that Frontier RV Resort didn’t have to pay anything at all to run all-new, high-capacity fiber. Then, Signal Connect’s local team put in the Wi-Fi solution the customer really wanted from day 1.
There was something that neither Bill Fischer nor Robert Young realized at first. The Frontier RV Resort was getting TV services and even phone service from their old internet service provider. The new provider wouldn’t be able to offer those. It seemed for a minute that the whole deal was in jeopardy.
Robert sprang into action. Working with Signal Connect’s extensive partner database, he found a VoIP (internet-based telephone) service that could provide real, traditional phone service over any internet line. This was a perfect fit for Frontier RV Resort’s needs.
Then, Robert added DIRECTV to the mix. He designed a custom system that was perfect for the park, offering more channels and easier use. Knowing that customers needed flexibility, he built the system so customers could simply connect their own TVs at the post and enjoy high-quality HDTV quickly and easily!
Signal Connect’s on-site project management meant that Bill Fischer could spend time doing what he did best rather than babysitting subcontractors. We coordinated every phase of the project, making sure that internet, Wi-Fi, TV, and phones worked together without problems or fingerpointing. We even trained the residents on how to use their new tech!
Two years later, when Bill Fischer was ready to upgrade again, he knew who to call. Robert and the Signal Connect team designed a unique, customized cable modem termination system (CMTS) that would let customers connect using wired as well as wireless technology. This system uses the same cabling as the TV system, so no additional cables were required.

At first it was all about Wi-Fi.

“When I spoke to Bill, he told me how frustrated he was. Apparently all the local service providers were making it very hard. They told us that the option wasn’t available, or they just wouldn’t return his calls.”

“I had no idea that this sort of thing was even possible. I thought phone service took special cables. I didn’t realize that you could add it to any internet plan. Signal Connect opened my eyes!”
