Should the Lions keep their Thanksgiving Day game?

I've heard a lot of talk about whether the Detroit Lions still should have their traditional Turkey Day football game or not.

As Paul Wozniak has reminded it a zillion times, the Detroit Lions- REBUILDUING SINCE 1957!

What do you think:

do the Lions deserve their traditional game, or should it go to another team?

No matter what I think the Lions should keep their Thanksgiving day game. For some reason I find it somewhat comforting that you always know Dallas and Detroit are playing. I don't want some media circus hyping the game. Let's just watch some football.

As I have been saying for many, many years now...it's time to rescue the once pround Detroit Lions from the William Clay Ford family. They are the worst owners in NFL history and will never win anything as long as these jokers are calling the shots. Over the years I have worn my Lions cap during operations on all seven continents including: the first Gulf War, cold weather training on Mount Fuji, operation INTERFET (East Timor), humanitarian operations in Somalia, support of Polar Services (arctic and antarctic), etc. Heck, I even purchased a Canadian systems (StarChoice) so I could watch them. However, earlier this year I had enough. I tossed aside the cap my mother sent me back in '82 while I was in the South China Sea area, and I'll be damned if I wear it until the Lions are sold to owners who are committed to winning (or at least trying)!

After 45 years, I am no longer a fan of the Ford Lions. Unfortunately, it will take a winless (0-16) season for the Turducken fans...er, I mean Ford Lions fans, to get pissed off enough to impale the Ford family on stakes outside of Ford Field.

The Lions should not play on Thanksgiving Day...in fact, Commissioner Goodell should revoke the teams NFL franchise.:up

Keep it the way it is, its tradition. I dont like the way the orgainzation is ran, but its tradition. 12:30 food and lions to kick off a day of football, with Dallas next.

Mike Ditka seems to be spearheading this drop lions game from Turkey day on ESPN. His facts, lions are not good. Well while it has been 40 years since a lions title, I would like to hear his thoughts on his Chicago cubs and there 100 year title streak.

Never. Leave it the way it is. Besides, even if you don't like it your probably eating during the game anyway. I don't mind it and when your favorite team plays the Lions, which is very rare, it's good to watch.

I agree with you about the Lions, I have given up watching them till they sell to an owner that wants to win and will put a winning product on the field. I'm not even sure that the Lions owner/s are trying.

As for the Lions being on Thanksgiving day,
YES they should be on Turkey Day EVERY year.

Did anyone notice that there was not this commotion about this game being on LAST year when the Lions were 6-2 ....

Also with everyone complaint (not here, but in the media ) about the Lions being the ones on every year, IF the Lions go, the Cowboys MUST GO too.
Can't keep that tradition, just because they are winning at the moment. Remember the Boys have not won a playoff game in about years, so they are quite inept as well.

Like I said keep the Lions game the way it is. I could understand why your pissed though. If I had a team that was run piss poor like the Lions have been, I would be mad too.

I still think it's tradition to keep it the way it is and besides if you don't want to watch them I'm sure the turkey will be done or talk to your relatives which for some people is just as torturous as watching the Lions play!!!
