Which one of the 3 is the best packages. Is sports pack worth it, I know you need to order the packages to get the professional games, but otherwise, is there anything valuable on it?

Based on channel counts Starz is the better value since it includes the Encore channels. Showtime hasn't had many Hollywood hits lately but has some original programming but does have Showtime-East available in HD. Cinemax has the least amount of channels in their package but shows some movies before they end up on HBO. You probably should look over what's being shown on the three services to see if anything helps your decision.

On the sports package, frankly I hardly watch any of the out of market RSN channels, if at all. Anything that would be 'good' is usually blacked out and you need to purchase the sports subscription for that sport in order to watch it.

I have Premier Package, and the way I rate the value of the 4 is this way:
1. RSN Sports Package
2. Starz
3. Cinemax
4. Showtime

But I am a sports junkie.

It really depends on your preferences...
If you love any kind of sports, not just local stuff, choose sports pack
If you like original programming, chose Showtime
If you like movies, choose Starz
If you like soft porn, choose Cinemax. :D

That pretty much sums it up:p

I'd echo this analysis.

If you are a fan of professional boxing, both HBO and Showtime have some pretty good live boxing matches every few weeks. ESPN2 also carries live professional boxing, primarily on Friday nights.

For the PPV boxing events, they are usually shown 1 week after the live event on either HBO or Showtime.
