At least he left Detroit in a blaze of glory.
2 HR's in his last game in Motown- not a bad farewell.
In a LOSS....
He's not gone yet.

I will agree! However, I thought it was interesting to confirm what someone else posted...when Sheff isn't happy he opens mouth and stick both feet in, which seems to happen ever few years - it's like Sheffield PMS. Personally, it's hard not to like Sheff when he's on top of his game since he is a real talent. I just wish he would have "wised up" a little over the years.I just wanted to point out that he was NOT the malcontent with the Tigers that some made him out to be.
Jimbo
He broke into the league with Milwaukee and never did very good
for Milwaukee and cried all the time he wanted to be traded to
Florida.
He went to San Diego before he went to Florida, actually.
...and has readily admitted that in both Milwaukee and San Diego he deliberately played down at a lower performance level because he was unhappy. Here's another REAL team player!!!!!

KCK,
that's why I've always admired your Angels since their championship season of 2002, it's a team of selfless players. I'd take players like Chone Figgins, Howie Kendrick, Garrett Anderson, Casey Kotchman, etc. any day of the week.
The Angels have come a LONG way from the days of Mo Vaughn and those interesting "harp logo" years.
Exactly!

Talk about another me guy. For your sake, Bill, I hope the Sox don't get Sheffield.
As SayJay said, no way anyone is going to pickup Sheff's $14 million contract with another year left.
And as for the DH thing, he's got more to worry about than "just" being the designated hitter. With Sheff batting .222, I would feel lucky to still be in the starting lineup at all!
sheff, a malcontent guy no way this guy is a team player and would go the extra mile [sarcam]. Don't tell me paul and jimbo that we did not tell you so.
