I have a Micro HD hooked to my Ku band with HH90 and have never had an issue. It may be time to send her off Christmas shopping, so you can do some serious playing.

Well, if it does turn out to be an issue with the receiver then the next question will be how to fix the receiver. I don't want to buy a new receiver at this time.

I guess I need a good tutorial on how the motor control is done. I suppose that an offset from 0 needs to be calculated based on the users lat/long and the location of the sat. Then the receiver sends a diseqc command to the motor which gets decoded into an offset-from-0 to start/stop the motor.

Apparently it's a problem with the Azbox Elite. My TBS card moves the dish past 35 degrees with USALS. I haven't tried testing using the Azbox Ultra though.

As suspected...

Typically STBs calculate to at least +/- 65 degrees. Some support 70 and others 60.

I guess the only way to fix it is to get access to the source code , modify it, and rebuild the firmware. I don't have a copy of the source code.

I wouldn't think that the AZbox Elite has a USALS control firmware problem, unless it has been updated it to some other 3rd party firmware. That STB has been around for several years and I don't remember hearing other members mention USALS positioning errors. Post on here or over on Rick's site for Elite owner feedback on the USALS problem.
