Just lost my signal completely. Sunny day. No wind, etc. Called Dish and the line was busy. Finally got through and was told it was a local channel issue. Any thoughts? Back on now (5:30pmEST)

Same here I lost complete signal too.I unplugged receiver and it finally came back on.It was out about 20 min....

I'm still down, and they had me do some troubleshooting. This is the 3rd time in less than a year I've had trouble with equipment. Love Dish, and I can't really blame them when something like a DVR crashes. Annoyed either way though. It's gonna be Saturday before anyone can get out and do anything about it.

Yes, if the signal did not acquire as normal after the outage it can cause audio/video issues. Resetting the receiver and it reacquiring usually resolves this issue.

What is happening with your system? Was this a result of the earlier outage or did you have a problem before that? If you would like me take a look at what can be done, please PM me you account info and I will look into this for you!

I had noticed this on my grandmother's television earlier, 110/119/129 went out completely, my dad and I looked in the southwest only to see about 1 puffy cloud in the sky, sun was above shining bright as ever, we were saying "surely that little puffy cloud couldn't be causing this!?"

It came back minutes later, I was beginning to think it was an equipment issue, but glad to see this post which confirms it was an uplink issue, and not on our end.

Weird. I just unplugged it again, and it seems to be back up and running now. Altough, it tells me I have 0 timers set. Does this normally take a few moments to populate? OK.. scratch that. The TV just changed channels and now I've got 2 shows recording. Odd. Just checked the upstairs TV and that one is working now too.

Should I keep my appointment for Saturday so someone can double check and make sure my dish didn't drift? Or should I chalk it up to an outage (albeit for 4 hours) and cancel the service call?

It does take a few minutes for all the information to show up after a hard reset on the receiver. If you were having an issue before today's signal outage then I would keep the appointment. It is entirely up to you but if you want DIRT can assist with canceling the appointment if you would like.

Weird. I went out to mow the yard and came in for another beer and noticed the 211 acquiring signal... When I was done the 211 was back to normal...

Just for common knowledge - I was informed by Mary that I'm EA, not WA, so technically I wasn't even affected by the outage. It is thought to be weather south of me, although I'm a little suspicious of where this weather was since this is one of the nicest weeks we've had all year.
