Hello everyone,
This is my first post after much lurking. I am thinking about gathering up old satellite tv receivers and reselling them.
It seems like:
- older ones might resell for $20 or more
- newer ones might go for $20 - $100 or so
- ones with HD might go for $100 - $200 or so
- one with HD and DVR of some variety might go for $100 - $400
Does this seem accurate? Am I missing anything? I am nervous about accidentally selling something I shouldn't after reading these forums. Any words of advice?
Thanks so much. :)

There's an amnesty program that expires at the end of the month. It allows them to become reactivated but a retailer must do it. Most retailers will charge you to get them cleared.

There are NO current receivers on the market that are going to be worth $400 used after the latest news of the retail for a new 921 going to $349 and the MPEG-4 receivers coming out and no new HD activations starting Feb. 1st.
