As some know, I had my tv calibrated by Gregg Loewen of LionAV back in the fall, who did I awesome job if I might add. His touchup visits are not badly priced, but Ive been considering doing my own experimentation.

After doing some reading, it appears this guy:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/X-Rite-EODIS2-Eye-One-Display-2/dp/B000JLO31M/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1231077818&sr=8-1"]Amazon.com: X-Rite EODIS2 Eye-One Display 2: Software[/ame]

and the calman standard software is the way to go.

Would be kind of exciting to have this ability at any time, and for $340 that aint bad. (its $340 for Eye-one display 2, tripod and calman standard if you buy it from Calman)

There is a better package but it gets you into the $800 range(eye one pro and calman standard), and for that you might as well hire someone :)

Or you can look at the Spyder line of products from Datacolor.

Of course it's all kid's toys compared to equipment that Gregg and other ISFers are using (priced in 4-5 figures) ;)

Yeah, Gregg brought something in the 5figure range when he came to my house :)

The guy at Cal-man (posts on avs too) just told me that a Chroma 5 would be the best for my range, its $500 shipped with cal-man standard. Its more accurate than eye-one and eye-one is better than spyder (by most accounts)

What to look for in surround speakers?

While we are discussing subs (port aiming/distance discussion)
