LAS VEGAS, NV, Jan. 5 /CNW/ - Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX - News), the world's number one provider of hard drives for consumer electronics, announced today at CES it is shipping its new 400GB hard drive for DVR (digital video recorder) and home entertainment systems. The Seagate DB35 Series hard drive is the first drive designed for DVRs to offer up to 44 hours of HDTV recording, 400 hours of standard TV recording, and up to 10 simultaneous standard TV streams with Seagate DynaPlay technology. The new Seagate DB35 Series hard drive offers the industry's largest available capacity for digital video entertainment, enabling new television services such as video on demand, high-definition DVRs, and home media centers.

The Seagate DB35 Series hard drive with DynaPlay technology delivers up to 10 simultaneous streams of TV, and lets manufacturers custom-tune the drive for optimal DVR performance. This breakthrough feature set optimizes the drive for video performance, power consumption control and content security. And because it's from Seagate, the drive provides long-haul reliability for worry-free DVR operation, year after year.

I dont think the new HD DVR that Voom is coming out with will have 10 tuners in it probably not even half of that.
