SD Format change after hitting Pause

Last night I was watching a movie, a standard def movie, and after I hit pause and came back, the format had changed. Wherein it had filled the screen vertically, there were now black bars top and bottom. I thought I had remembered it wrong and ignored it.

But today it happened again. So I tested it by trying two more channels. Same thing. So I have now seen it 4 times.

I have my HR21 set to "1080i Crop" The image fills the screen vertically until I hit Pause, then it changes to letterbox. The image is unchanged horizontally.

Anyone else seeing this?

Is no one else experiencing this? I tested it twice again tonight and the same thing happened. Hitting pause on a SD program changes the screen format.

My is set to pillar box. I have never seen what you describe.

It doesn't do it when you have it set to pillar box.
