I'm surprised nobody has been discusssing this show. I've had the entire season on the DVR and just got around to watching in the past few days. I have to say that it has become one of my favorite shows. Each episode drew me in farther and farther. I really hope it has been renewed.

Why is "Scandal's" president such a moron?

Tony Goldwyn's chemistry with Kerry Washington is great, says Miriam Krule, "it's one of the best parts of the show. But as a president, he's a joke. The show comes close to admitting this on occasion, revealing, for instance, that he never would have been elected on his own, and that he can’t govern at all without his wily chief of staff.

First season it didn't really impress me as great, but it was certainly good enough to watch.
I was surprised it got a second season. :)
Then, second season, fasten your seat belt!
I try to recommend the show to others, but I guess they're too thick... errrr have different taste! ;)

I just finished binge watching the season. It is really a good series when you watch it over 2 days. I am looking forward to next year.

Question: Any new casting news for Scandal since Harrison left the show?
Ausiello: This scoop is rated “T for Tentative,” but I hear the show is looking to add a new recurring character to the mix who is described in the casting notice as an African-American lawyer in his 30s to 50s. There’s no timetable for the newbie’s arrival, and the whole thing could be scrapped if Shonda Rhimes doesn’t find the right actor. (She already made it pretty clear that she’s in no rush to beef up the cast.) Also worth noting: This is not a Harrison recast.

Question: Will Scandal have some scenes shot in Washington D.C. this upcoming season?
Ausiello: If not this season then (likely) at some point in the show’s run. “I wish, I hope, I want to,” Shonda Rhimes tells me, adding that “budgets, budgets, budgets” are the No. 1 obstacle to taking the show on the road to the nation’s capitol. “It’s expensive to go there, for any production. But we’d like to. We hope to. We’re trying to save our pennies.”

Question: Any details on Portia de Rossi’s Scandal character?
Ausiello: I tried mightily to get Rhimes to spill the beans, but all she would divulge is that the Arrested Development vet is playing “a very formidable person.” Actually, that’s a pretty decent tease, considering how tight-lipped Rhimes can be. I’m putting that in the “win” column.
