I am attempting to install my new SC 75 cm elliptical dish with the 317 and 530 receivers.

My location:
Latitude: 44.9476° N
Longitude: 122.9807° W

My dish settings: (per global-cm dot net data)
Elevation: 36.9°
Azimuth (true): 163.4°
Azimuth (magn.): 146.9°
LNB Skew: -11.7° or 78°

These are brand new systems and I haven’t started my programming service yet. I figured I would at least see something.

Since I can see through the window to my 317 I am using it as my signal meter for installation.

When I go to the Options 6-4-3-1 I get:

EMM Provider: 0
Satellite Name: -
Signal Level Number: 12

What am I doing wrong?
OR What should I be doing?

It is much easier to bring a tv/monitor outside and adjust the dish.

Tune to channel 299 on your receiver. This channel is on 107W. Your dish has 111W in the center and 107W is offset so when positioning your dish you aim to 111W and 107W just falls into place.

The readings you have are good. I checked on a site I used to set up my dish and they are pretty much the same: Dish elevation 36.9, LNBF rotation -11.7 & a compass reading of 146.8.

If you have the elevation and rotation pre-set all you have to do is adjust the dish "east and west" and you should start to see the signal, then you can fine tune after that. As you probably know make sure your mast is plumb and you have a clear line of site.
