Just curious, but is it possible to create your own HD signal over coax on a given channel frequency to be picked up by the DVR for recording? I know in the analog days it wasn't hard to create your own signal on channel 3 or 4 from most VCRs but is it possible now with the HD tuners?

The reason is to save custom content to the DVR so its accessible from the Internet via the Sling Adapter.

Just curious...

I think it's possible, but you need a pretty complicated and expensive ATSC modulator.

Wouldn't it be easier to start with a free standing Sling HD Pro? It has the capability to handle up to three inputs simultaneously using, composite, S Video, component, coaxial, and USB ports.

You need to use a Hauppauge PVR Model 1212.

It can accept component HD input and send it to a PC via USB connection as an H.264 stream.

Just rig your HD so it outputs via component and either TOSLINK or RCA stereo audio and you can record anything to your PC hard drive.

S110 update for 922?
