Hello,

I am just learning about FTA, and am considering purchasing an FTA system.

In general can anyone tell me what satellites I can expect to receive at about 44(lattitude), 71-72(Longitude) in northern new hampshire.
I'm not sure how far West or East for that Matter I can expect to pickup signals.

Thanks,
smurphx

I'm a bit further east than you 45N 67W but not much. I can get 129 IA7 to Telstar 12 at 15 degrees, thats with a 30 inch dish. I can go a bit further on both ends but I have buildings in the way. It will also depend on the terrain where you live, if you have hills all around you that will restrict your line of sight.
Have a look at Lyngsat, it will give you a pretty good idea what satellites are available to you and what is on them for programming.

well where I am in Maine I am picking up everyting from 72 degrees to 129, I have not tried anything too far out over the atlantic yet, b/c my polor mount isnt tracking correctly yet...waiting for the weather to get above freezing out here..... Most of what you'll see depends on how clear the view of the sky you have. Dont fret though if you cant see everything right now I'm parked on g10 and thats keeping my happy right now.

Thanks for the input.
I'm possibly considering setting up an FTA system so that I can just get some decent tv reception.
This might be a fun project to taken on with a little homework.
I'll have to of course see if the site I'm at will be suitable for a reception. As far as a dish goes...I'll likely get at least 30inches if not a bit more.
I'm not sure what receiver to get just yet.
