I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but I just wanted to say that Satellite AV's new website looks great and is very easy to navigate.

Thank you for the Kudos! I will pass them on to our team! While it may look like a fresh coat of paint with new graphics, entire sites were coded, custom carts built and integrated to accounting software packages. You might be interested in the upgrades to some of our other sites as well (we host and manage about 80 sites). I attribute a good part of our strong growth through the negative economic climate to their constant efforts!

Credits are due to our Marketing Director (and graphic artist extraordinaire), Lorie Steel and our multi-talented and long-time staffer, html wizard, Eugene Zaikin. They are working alongside some great coders in the IT department, Rob and Nick to transform many of our sites. Satellite AV CEO, Brent Kelley initiated and provided the guidance and editing to these projects. The team first upgraded the Free Christian Satellite Television - No Monthly Fees from Glorystar Christian Satellite! and affiliated websites including the Canadian and Spanish sites, then the Satellite AV, LLC - Satellite Broadcaster Support and Equipment Distribution website. Currently they are working on the Satellite System Installer Referral - www.FTAinstall.com and GeoSatFinder - Satellite Finder Calculator - Satellite AV sites and you should see major changes and upgrades to these sites in the next few months.

Lorie leads the redesign of our partner site, www.poweron.com and the trade-in / trade-up program for the manufacturer of North America's most popular personal electronics, which is hosted and managed in our facilities.

Next you will be seeing some exciting new products to grace these sites! I guarantee that at least one of the products will be talked about way more than the site! :D

I guess some folks have lower standards for what is a great website. The buttons "return to shopping" and "Proceed to Checkout" in the cart area don't work. When you leave the cart area the site stays in secure mode and you get warnings about non secure content on some product pages. Also you can't check the shipping without creating an account. Maybe that is some marketing move to collect my personal info but I just avoid the sites that play those games. If I didn't know you guys from this site I would think its pretty shady to collect my name, address, email and phone number just so I could see the shipping cost.

Bob, what browser and version are you using? These features are confirmed working on all major browsers and OS.

Yes, it stays in secure mode as you have created a cart that may contain personal information. This is typical of most sites with secure carts. Security warnings are typically triggered by the user settings. What security levels have you assigned in your browser?

Also you can't check the shipping without creating an account.
Valid point. We will explore providing an option to receive a shipping quote before providing personal information. As our site is primarily used by registered dealers purchasing in bulk with existing accounts, our development team obviously did not consider the experience of a first time shopper like yourself.

Thank you for you input! Information about your system and browser would be helpful for our team to understand why your experience is different than our test platforms. If you would rather share information regarding your browser and security in a more private setting, please contact by PM, email or by phone.

I've placed phone and internet orders with SatAV and all our other FTA hardware dealers.
None have sent me any unwarranted mail nor emails.
Maybe because I've checked the "do not bug me" check-box? ;)

I did however have a similar bad experience with another dealer, where I had to set up an account to get the total price plus shipping for some parts.
In the end, I didn't do business with them; the difficulty of shopping three places was just too frustrating. :(

I can confirm it does seem to work right in Firefox but does not work in Internet Explorer 7 on XP.

I will have to disagree with your statement "this is typical of most sites with secure carts" because if you look at other big sites like Newegg, Radio Shack, etc... they reserve https for pages where secure data is entered but drop you out of secure mode when you leave the checkout area. They do this either by removing the header menus or making sure they return to http pages on exit. Your site still works but it makes it awkward for novice users when they now see security warnings for pages they just looked at that were safe.

Your site does look more professional than some other satellite dealers who have sites that make it look like they are a one man operation.

Why is it no surprise that it is IE7 on XP?

I just pulled out an old laptop with IE7 and XP and the buttons work fine with same config. We would need to know more information about the updates and patches of your system to properly diagnose, but so many versions of IE7 didn't properly support correct coding without the workaround patches available in various packages.......

MS for an OS is disastrous! LOL!!! :clap

Thank you again for your input!

I've checked IE7 on one of my PC's (XP) and it's version 7.0.5730.13 and update version:0 and it does fail as previously posted.
