Wife forwarded me the email on this and wondered if we should go. National Harbor is kinda cool and
wondered if we would make a short vacation out of it.

Are the speaker's topics within the understanding of the layperson?

You need to be an industry associate or buyer to attend. Mostly commercial gear and tons of SatIP targeting maritime, some broadcast, oil industry and government contracts. In my opinion, NAB or CES would be of more interest to the layman/hobbyist if you can be sponsored in or be part of a media team. $1 - 2.5K is a lot to spend to sit in on the Satellite Expo sessions, but I think it is $99 to walk the small exhibition floor.

Its amazing what you find out when you come out of your workshop and actually have a conversation with your wife. She has been getting an invite for a couple of years now and is a buyer and deployer of SatIP services!
Didn't realize. I need to get out of the workshop more often I suppose.
