Hey, sorry if this question was already asked but I've searched the forum and didn't find the subject.

I would like to know if the SatCruiser DSR-101 Plus is worth it compared to Viewsat, Coolsat, Pansat...
Because one the FTA technician in the area swears by the Satcruiser quality. But I don't know, I don't think the quality of the channels is THAT great, I see a lot of pixelization in the channels, especially in fast movement (The Galaxy 25 sat)

So, anyone here has some experience with the Sat Cruiser DSR-101 plus and how it compares to the others?

Thanks.

There's a lot of channels on that satellite, you'll see some with much better quality than others. I doubt the best receiver avail can fix the PQ when it's poor to begin with.

it depends on the channel on IA5/G25. Some of the channels are just bad. The company that owns the specific channel may not be paying a lot for bandwidth which makes the channel look like mush.

I've worked with alot of recievers and the channels that look like mush on a $40 box looks the same as the $400 box.

I see... Thanks for the reply Iceberg.

But what do people look for when they search for an FTA receiver? Because I see that principally, Viewsat, Coolsat and pansat are the popular receivers out there while SatCruiser is... not so popular *I'm talking about this forum and the web*.

Big selling points for a FTA receiver are Blind Scan (very important), motor control, AC-3 (Dolby Digital) audio capability, and component outputs (if you need them). HD and 4:2:2 would be nice, but most receivers won't do these...

What two receivers would work together for 4dtv, motor control, blind scan, 4-2-2, hd, and ac3? I gather that there is not one to do all.

You would be correct. My thought would be if I could only choose two for what you are asking...a Motorola 922 and a dvb card.
