samsung dvd recorder problems

Hi I have a samsung dvd-r150 That I bought last spring It was bought for just changing my video vhs. to DVD, well I have used it only three times and dont understand it too much yet. I went to use it today and the door wont open and I cant seem to get any menu functions. The remote works as well as the channel buttons on front.
Anybody have some Ideas about what is going wrong?

Try unplugging it for a minute, sometimes that works. Just might need to reboot.

Thanks I am going to unplug it overnight
The manual has a reset but it will only work with no disk in it and there is one stuck in there , It froze up after i loaded the disk
