Just ordered this baby a few minutes ago from US Appliance. Been following this set for a while. There are a couple of threads at the AV Forums site on it and everyone seems to be thrilled with it. Now the wait begins.

That is one pricey TV. I hope the PQ is worth it. BTW it may be less expensive on Amazon

US Appliance is where I got my 67 inch LED DLP television and I have had no issues with it since I got it over a year ago. They had the best price delivered to my door.

I have viewed the 8000 series at Best Buy and was very impressed with the PQ. The folks at AV Forums say the 8500 is better because of Local Back Lighting. The PQ is what most new owners first comment on. It listed a little cheaper at Amazon, but US Appliance gave out a coupon code, and I got 700 bucks off. Couldn't pass that up.;)

I read the same thing about US Appliance at the AV Forums site as well.

Nice. Hope give us a report when you get it set up.

Will do.

I know. I wont be able to go to sleep the night before it gets here. :D Do you own one?

I was the same way waiting on my Samsung 650 LCD

Pioneer 151ftd
.
Epson 8100 projector.

I have always liked Samungs hdtv's. I think they have the most accurate color and the blacks on your LED will be better than my Sammy LCD and my blacks are pretty darn good. Not Kuro good but pretty darn close.:)

The Kuro is the one all the reviewers say it's close to.

The LEDs handle all black very well, but in a full screen while watching something, they still lack CR of a Plasma.

That being said, my Regza has 96 zones and handles letterbox and black screens great, and they are pitch black. The 8500 has 216, so itll be even better, which is one of the reasons why im sure it was $1500 more.
