THANK YOU SCOTT!! I can at least avoid the flatness that seems to be the Vogue Thing these days. I wished the current crop of interface designers and web designers would let everyone, smack them about head and ears for about 200 hours.
Thanks for pointing out, that you can keep the old style. Had to go hunting, though. For others, it is in your preference settings.

Yep same software Lone. Just a different theme and some site forum changes and such.

Once I got to the Forums everything pretty much looked and worked the same as when I logged out this morning.And bonus,logging on is no longer a PITA,I was getting really tired of it going to the bottom of the page and then have to scroll back to the top to log on.
I was having feelings of impending doom the last few days but this change is no big deal,unlike the original change to xenforo,that was painful.

Heh, well, I haven't been happy with this forum software since the switch, which killed some of the archived stuff and made it damn near impossible to search for much of anything on here. I've had better success searching for stuff here by searching with Google!!

All of the archived stuff is here, and the search we are using now is the best search we have had on any forum package we have run.
Unfortunately vBulletin is dead and as you may have noticed most websites have moved away from that software. In fact some forums have moved to a different software and then after that moved again to Xenforo as it is the best package out there.

I agree with you on the old search feature. It was awful, but like Scott said, the new one is amazing and works great!!!
Before I could quickly look at 'FTA Discussion' and tell if anything new was posted. (Other than the WUT thread) Something that I do multiple times a day. Now it requires a sign in.
I changed the Style..but that doesn't work unless logged in.

I noticed no major differences (yet). I'm always signed in, and my bookmark goes straight to the forums instead of the front page. I think the only change I've noticed so far is "Internet Streaming TV" instead of IPTV" for that section.

Setting style pref to 'SatGuys 2016' gives the same results as before... as long as logged in.
Just realized: I can use the 'stay logged in' feature as a work around and close the window when done.
I don't leave multiple windows open here due to my crappy ISP.It doesn't take much to bog my speed down to a crawl.
It's all good.

For some reason this new format seems to be difficult to read. I don't know if it's the print or the background or what. I just changed to the "dark" style. Much easier to read except for signatures.
Like the clean new 2017 look! I agree that the search engine is much improved, but still almost impossible to link to old articles as it gives a URL without /xen/ directory. The path should default link without requiring the /xen directory.
The classic blue window background made reading on the HTPC all but impossible. The white post background is a bit "bright", but so much better on my eyes from 8-10' away!

I don't see any differences, except forum names and such. Otherwise it all looks exactly the same to me.
I've "SatelliteGuys Classic (Pub Members Only)" style chosen, and looks good to me.

Just took a look at "2017",immediately returned to "2016 no sticky" and that's where it's gonna stay.
