We have Adelphia cable/internet here in Massanutten, Va,service has been very good so far, couple of burps but not bad over all.
While at Circuit city a couple days ago I decided to pick up a firewire and try it on the Scientific Altanic 8300HD stb to my Samsung HL-R5667W.I have read that the port is not enabled in many areas but what the hell,I'll give it a try.Well long story short it is active here and the PQ is better that I could have ever thought it would have been,it is a lot sharper than the HDMI, overall seems very robust, like removing a tear-away off a crash helmet-clearing out a smoky room. Not that the picture was bad before-as good as D*,but the transfer from the stb to the TV seems very clean
One down side is that there is no Program Guide,or any Info relayed in this mode from the SA 8300HD.Well more later
