A question for everyone who has prime, Bay Area , csnca as your RSNs.

These are our RSNs in Hawaii. For hockey our team is designated as LA Kings. Baseball is SF Giants.

My question - these RSNs are SD only and the quality of broadcast games is totally horrendous. I also have the multisport package in my subscription and the quality of RSN channels out of market in THAT package are acceptable even though they are all SD only as well. So on the mainland, is your quality of S. Cal RSNs good or poor?

Those RSNs look just fine in California, especially in HD.

Thanks for the response. In Hawaii we do not get HD for our RSNs.

We don't even get acceptable quality SD.

I'm a 15+ year DISH subscriber here in Hawaii and back in Oregon. Unfortunately it seems we are starting to get less and less for paying more and more.

I just switched my parents in NY from DISH to their FIOS bundle. They are finally (again) getting MSG nets plus HBO and SHO in addition to the equivalent of the AT250 package on DISH for $40 less per month.

Too bad FIOS is not available here!

Do you not get live games in HD in Hawaii?
No. We do not get live games in HD. If they are on our RSNs, they are only in poor quality SD.

When we see the rebroadcast of NHL games on OTHER RSNs in our multisport package, they are acceptable SD broadcasts.

This is the same for PAC12 net. Mainland gets HD broadcasts of live games - we in Hawaii do not. However, PAC12 SD broadcasts are "acceptable".

Y'know, when I first became a DISH subscriber many, many years ago I was proud that a CEO like Charlie Ergen was on our side. These days, I 'm not such a fan.

One other thing - cable subscribers in Hawaii also receive NHL Sharks and Ducks games because they are "home" teams for cable.

These teams are blacked out on DISH for both local RSN and National (NHLN & NBSN) broadcasts.

I agree ttomni6, and I am from Hawaii as well. We are to small of a dot for dish to make improvements to our programming in Hawaii. I wish they would provide us HD rsn. Since your parents has verizon fios you should just check if you can watch their tv online, through app like dish anywhere. Then that way you don't need to listen to hawaii stupid local news, which I dislike very much.

Sounds like sports are very important maybe you need to change from DISH to cable to eliminate black outs.
