Not wanting to start anything, just wanna know how people feel IF THIS IS TRUE?

Personally I swear, if Dish adds 23 new HD channels I'm leaving D*.

Now I am still a big E* guy and still am even though I am now a D* guy.

I remember the whole we hit 100 channels of HD two days later E* removed 15 channels of Voom, and still laid clam to the 100 channel mark.

Stone if you are such a big E* guy why did you switch services(not cutting you) was it for a better price by going with D*, the type of programing that is offered by D*, or just a change of services? Just wondering because when I did my yearly call around to different "providers day" I was surprised at how much more E* would offer me over D* if I dropped cable and took them on as a provider. Really has me wondering if I should not try E* ---Thanks

until E* has less HD compression and offers english speaking reps, I have no use for them. That and the fact they allowed some woman from another state to setup THREE fraudulent accounts with my SS number, then would not let me set up a valid account with my SS#, idiots.

Only option I see for me in the future is potentially FIOS.

I think that since D* and E* are close in numbers, they are waiting for each other to jump. Once one takes a true lead (has all same channels as other AND more), then youll see the low man catch up. Until then, I think both are happy sitting here and lying about their numbers.

The force mothballign of my 7200s 721 and 921 recievers, recently because they did not want to upgrade the software on them. 7200 I can understand the 721/921 I am upset about I love those boxes.

Problems with billing and Dish kept calling to sell me extras I did not need or want . If I wanted showtime or xyz service I would call them not them calling me. Then when they do call they are some indian a$$hole who cant speak english.

new to direct. had dish before and hated it. between the 5 dollar monthly fee for no hookup to a landline and the non english speaking reps I was through. Oddly enough I finally I spoke to an english speaking rep with dish, that was my final transfer to the save desk.

I really don't care what the numbers are at this point, I don't think I 've watched a SD channel in a LONG time now, so apparently most of my viewing channels are now in HD, so I am set for, the time being. :)

Read the Dish Network uplink for yourselves.

Also, this thread has good info:
http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/161243-tmp-channel-chart.html

Essentially, there are 23 table entries for CONUS HD that are available on both of the Dish satellite arcs. There are even more only on one of the arcs. Some of them are testing (using actual bandwidth). What they are, no one knows. Some have even theorized they could be 24 hour RSNs. Here is my person, unsubstantiated theory. Or rather hope: Viacom (for 7 with BET), Fox (for 4), Comcast (for 3), and Showtime/TMC (for 6). Add FashionTV and Crime and Investigation, plus MoreMax or ESPNU and we get to 23.

While some of you may not be in the market for a Dish switch, competition can only held get DirecTV moving.

People need to realize there's more than a hd count determining a good provider. Even if dish has more channels , direct is still a better, more professional company. I've generally not had Cust serv issues with direct, could never say the same about dish. It's also nice to get English speaking reps and not wonder what I'm going to lose because of a lawsuit. But hey, their DVR rulez

I spoke to a CSR last night about the run around that I have been getting from E*, she was in the Philippines, and spoke really good english ( I was surprised). The only reason that I decided to try dish was for the turbo pak, and also cost upfront. D* best was 400.00 up front and E* was 99.00 but if the PQ is really as bad as everyone says, I should probably just give the installer 50.00 and send him packin, and just stay with Comcast. I really thought that D* was going to offer us a good deal as we were with them for over 8 years before we left Northern VA, but I guess they are important now.

I would agree on the close on HD numbers I think each as a few that the other would want, WGN for me for baseball and travel channel would be on my "wish list"...Will one pull ahead?

Now come on be honest, don't you already miss the indians!!

Everyone wants to make claim for the count issue, I left from Dish last week and all they did was talk about HD count and technology. Both of those claims can be fluffed, e.g.; they claim to have more than D*. Maybe, but if more than 25 are HD PPV, that doesn't count in my book. e.g. Technology; yes it (The 722) is a quicker box than the HR, but why can I not make remote recordings to the box, or why can I not get my ON-Demand viewer categorized like D*. The point is this, find the one that you think is best for you. Not for counts or technology, but for service and satisfaction with the product. I am happy with D* now as I grew frustrated of E* for not making my locals widely available and not giving me the service I deserved. I suggest you all make the choice on your own.

Guess I'll just give the installer 50.00 for his time and he can get off to the next job. It sounds as if E*'s PQ is going to be way worst than Commiecast, all the sets are good size screens except for the bedroom, it'll just magnify E*'s poor PQ
