RF remote

I switched to Directv last week. I have the RC65X remote (no RF) which sucks. My question is what remote was I supposed to get? Is the RF remote a $ upgrade or could I have gotten it at the install?

If you had asked, they probably would have given you an rf model, but apparently it's up to the installer now. Here is a very good deal on a new rf remote. I bought one from him and he shipped very quickly.

Is there a FCC sticker on the back of the remote you have ?
If so, it already is a RF remote.

Have you tried going into the menus and change to RF from IR ?

The RC65X isn't rf, the RC65RX is.

Wouldn't you think that if your getting D* in this day and age, it would come with an RF Remote ? Anything HD at the VERY least.

Of course now it appears to be the Installers choice.

So if the installer thinks you might need one you get one, otherwise not, even if you should ....:cry:
