RF remote and TV2

I've got a VIP222, with TV2 in my mother-in-law's room. She's away for awhile so TV2 hasn't been used for the past month. Over the past two days though the TV2 tuner on my receiver has been coming on by itself. Neither neighbor on either side of me has Dish (one is Direct and the other just got Uverse). So what could be interfering with my RF signal and can I change the frequency to prevent this in the future?

The light on the receiver indicating TV2 tuner is on.

Could be after it looks for updates at 3:00am (default), it reboots and the tuner is turned on after that.

Just change the remote address, look in the book

Have you checked to see if the channel has changed since when you last watched it?

You could also remove the UHF antenna from the back of the receiver if you want to prevent reception of commands.

Nope...happened during the day. Also came on to a different channel than previously watched....But since posting the question, it hasn't happened again.

Change the remote address and see if it happens again.
