I have not recorded a PPV movie or event with DTV DVR yet, however, while reading posts here and other places I was very surprised to find out that if you rewatch a recorded ppv event or movie you are charged a second time, WTF???
I have tivo'ed UFC events and PPV movies for years on charter cable and rewatch them all the time with no extra charge or anything. I remember a few years ago that one time out of the blue I couldn't watch a recorded UFC a second time on tivo so I called tivo to explain that I have always been able to rewatch them. They said it was an issue with the cable company (charter) and needed to call them, I did. Charter blamed it in Tivo. I called Tivo back, again they blamed it on Charter so I called them back. Finally I gave up. A few days pass by and I'm able to watch all UFC's and PPV movies I tivo'ed again, and all future ones since. Never had the issue again.
Now I make the move to direct tv and hear this. So I guess my rant/question is what is the real story? Is it only a DTV policy? If I hook my Tivo up to a standard receive will I be able to keep and replay at no extra charge?
