Digital Dude said:If you're looking for a stand alone, no subscription DVR, (We've got 3) the Polaroid DRM-2001G is a steal for $210 at Wal-Mart. It has componenet in, 80 gig drive that you can easily (plug and play) to 500 gig! The documentation is in chinglish but it's a great DVR for the price.

I'm gonna keep an eye on it and maybe it'll go on sale some time before Christmas..
With this I could watch and record the new local CW station coming next week, since it's digital..
It's also good to know someone that has one and likes it..

I record a few TV series and hockey games. With the HDD, I can record it to the Hard Drive, edit out commercials and burn to a DVD.Also, I was just going to get a DVD recorder, but is there a true advantage to having a DVDR/HDD? Can I record two shows at once? Will I be able to view the programming schedule through my E* VIP 211?
