I am so pi##ed right now. not sure what i am going to do Thinking of DTV route.
But at anyrate i am returning my leased 942 receiver and going to drop down to the 120 package with locals. i have 2 receivers that i own a 508 and a 721. Which one should i activate? Does the 721 still have buggy software ?

721 is much touchier than the 508 but I sure like the functionality of the 721 over the 508 plus the dual tuner action plus no dvr fee for it either same as 508 anyway i would keep the 721

Dish said i could keep my 942 active with no HD is this true ?

Yes. Just because you have one of their HD recievers, doesn't mean that you have to subscribe to their HD package.

Just keep the 942, and then use it for the SD stuff, and hook an antenna to it for OTA HD locals.

They told you that in Writting? Never trust CSRs.

My contract on my lease says I must sub to the HD package. Maybe they changed it when you got yours.

I would read the fine print to be sure.

Never got any kind of contract when i leased my 942 thru the Executive Offices

Dave, as far as I know/read, you'll still get HD. (same as my 811)
But you won't get the 5 new MGEG4 channels that have been added.

Or, you can wait till the 622 is available for the $99 upgrade fee.
