I was watching RTN last night and they had a commercial for some sort of slimming undergarment for women. I couldn't believe my eyes when the address of the advertiser was from Winnipeg! I thought I must have been on the wrong channel . How the heck does some unheard of mail order business in Winnipeg selling elastic undergarments get hooked up with an Arkansas tv station?

lol i didn't know how to take that as a backwater arkansas or backwater winnipeg or both lol but i suspect its cost and right now RTN has a good level of viewers for a smaller mailorder company to do very well on sales for the cost of advertising on a RTN station. Storms today in Arkansas

I don't know much about Arkansas, except that its a long way from here and its a strange way to cross paths. Who knows, maybe this company in Winnipeg is selling elastic undergarments all over North America? Considering you have had a President from Arkansas, but we've never had a Prime Minister from Manitoba, just a guy they hung for treason, I'd say that would make us the backwater. Probably have some pretty good fishing in both places and we should set up an exchange program.
Not sure I'd call Hill and Billy something that makes Arkansas less of a backwater hillbilly state.
oh no i know i'm in the backwater i still have dialup lol exchange program for fishing..... thats sounds like a good plan or you could come down and dig for Diamonds in North Americas only Diamond Mine (field). one of the days i will drive up to Canada and meet a few folks. Never noticed a lot about Canadians but have met a lot of nice one on this site

most of the commercials on the Equity stations are like the PSA's...they're probably free for the taking. A guy I work with use to work at what were a couple independent TV stations here in Minneapolis years ago (now are CW23 & Pax41). Alot of smaller companies wil scoop up the following and show heavily
-paid programs
-religious shows
-those psa type commercials (they're not PSA but you see them all the time)
why? Because they're cheap to obtain, cost no overhead to the station and alot of them just want it shown. He said they'd run Gene Scott (yes, old crazy Doc Scott) overnight because they could pluck it from C-band and show it...then people complained (uh oh) so they switched to Shepherd's Chapel (kinda funny when he said the satellite they use to be on) because again it was cheap.
