Welcome to another SatelliteGuys Reacp of DISH Networks retailer chat. This recap will only contain information which is found to be of interest to consumers. We do not report on dealer sensitive issues such as costs.

Jim and Amir welcome us to the chat and tell us this chat might be a little longer as they will be going over a lot of the stuff from Team Summit.

Jim says he has a surprise and introduces Charlie. Charlie said he enjoyed eeing everyone and how he loves getting feedback and ideas from retailers to make things better.

Charlie talks a bit about DIRECTV and says he would rather see DISH Network dishes on everyones houses instead of DIRECTV dishes. He says that DIRECTV is too angry and this new CEO is taking the company in a negative direction.

Charlie says he is proud that the appeals court will hear then in the Tivo case as DISH is fighting for innovation. Charlie says that he and the CEO both worked for Frito Lay, and the first thing they were taught there was integrity. He says you never see Pepsi calling coke a liar. He thinks that DIRECTV will keep on the negative campaign.

They talk about the customer service index and how they ranked #1. Charlie said that they have made progress greatly. Its the one year biggest gain in that serey.

Verizon and AT&T did rank higher then DISH in that Survey and he is not happy about that, they will continue to work to make things better.

Charlie says that conectivity is the future of the company and how important hooking up broadband will be important iin the future.

Charlie again talks about TiVo. Charlie explains the design around which was sent to boxes and how it does not infringe on Tivos patients. Charlie is pleased that the court will hear their en banc review and says that the questions asked are very interesting and will help decide innovation in the future. Charlie says he likes Tivo and he wants to work with them. The en banc review will take up to a year to complete. Dish will be in limbo until then. They also have another workaround which the Texas court which is now being reviewed and if approved will make them in non contempt.

DVR's are not getting shut off DISH is a great company, TiVo is a great company and they look forward to working with them.

A clip from Team Summit is shown.

The chart is misleading. The new cheaper price won't include Platinum which is currently included in the current price. When you add that $10, no price drop exists.

Oh no, he's in kiss and make up mode.

It looks as though Charlie would like to use the Tivo product if he could get a reasonable deal. $2 or $3 dollars per month per subscriber would amount to $3 billion to $4 billion before the patent expires, so Charlie is obviously looking for something more on the order of $.25 per head (25 cents). Even that would be a substantial amount of annual income for Tivo, and Charlie may be thinking more in the range of 8 to 10 cents per head. But obviously, Charlie is interested in making a deal.

Thanks for the news.
