I'm getting a signal error on the 119 bird Transponder 6 (Can't get channel 205). I think this may have something to do with the storm that rolled through yesterday. I plan on having a tech scheduled to come out and between now and then give a shot at repointing the dish.

My question is.......Is there a way to bypass dealing with the technical people at DISH in order to set up an appt? I have DHPP and the last time I called the local guys, they said I had to go through DISH's technical assistance before an appt could be set up. I'd rather not have to sit through 40 minutes of reboots and check switches in order to set up an appt.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Well it looks like 205 is Transponder 6 on the 119. I have a signal strenth of 102. Did you ever check your signal strength?

Signal strength on trans 6 is "0" if I remember correctly. I believe transponder 10 or 11 on 119 was 53.

Now is the time I wish I had slingbox set up since i'm at the office.

And what would be the best transponder to peak to for 110/119? My plan is to just talk to Dish, get a date set, then try and re-point it since i've done it a few times.
I just took Transponer 1 on the 110 and peaked it because it was the lowest for me with a 92. Not counting the zeros. I got it to 95,and all my strengths on the 110 went up as well. For my 119 I looked for a transponder that wasn't spotbeamed and did the same thing. then I checked the 110 again. It was at 93 ,so I peaked it again on the 110 to 95 and left it at that. Most of the transponders on the 119 were on average 108-115 on strength. So Good enough for me .

I'll try that....thanks :up

First thing I would check is if your mast on your Dish is plumb. Becasue my Dish Tech didn't tighten all of the bolts on my 1 Dish and it started sagging. I wouldn't be surprized if its the same problem.

I was thinking about that on the way to work today. This also happened with my 61.5 a month or so back. Original installer didn't tighten the bolts enough and the mast dropped a hair which threw it off. After they fixed it, I double checked the 110/119 dish to make sure all was tight.....which it wasn't.

***UPDATE***

The mast dropped a little, so I put that back in place. Then I did some tweaking with the elevation and left/right. Back to normal (100).

Thanks for the help.
