There are over 400 stations that will do the digital switch on Tuesday Feb 17, despite the DTV Delay act allowing them to delay until June. DirecTV has been proactive in converting all their local receiving facilities to all digital, so the majority of users should see no difference when a station cuts off the analog signal.
Users that use the off-air antenna input on their DirecTV receivers may be more likely to experience problems with this switch. As stations make this change, the DirecTV box needs to either re-scan the local station, or receive the new digital channel number from the DirecTV stream, depending on the receiver.
This thread is to tell you how to rescan your receiver to attempt to locate any locals that you may lose. More imporantly, this thread is to report any issues to DirecTV with the appropriate information to get them fixed as quickly as possible.
Please copy this form and fill out the information for any station you lose access to after 2/17:
Station Callsign:
Digital Channel Number:
Acquiring via DirecTV LiL or OTA:
Your DirecTV Receiver:
Your DMA:
Your Primary Zip Code (on DirecTV receiver locals setup):
Your Secondary Zip Code (again on the receiver locals):
Did you re-do Antenna Setup (for OTA):
Again, please ONLY report issues with a station you lose access to following the 2/17 transition, AFTER you rescan for local stations.
H2x (non-dvr) users:
Rescan for locals by going to Setup, Sat/Antenna, Antenna Setup, and re-scan for your locals.
HR2x (HD DVR) users:
The HR series does not scan for locals, rather it depends on a list table from the satellite stream of what stations should appear on what digital channel. That said, before reporting a lost channel try a re-do of your antenna setup, Setup, Sat/Antenna, Antenna Setup, Initial Setup.
If you still can't access a station after 2/17 that you could access prior, then please copy/paste the form above and complete the information so DirecTV can check into it.
Attached is a list of stations switching on or before 2/17.
