Replacing 2 leased Joeys with 2 that were purchased

Is there anything specific that I should know about replacing my two leased Joeys with two that were purchased? I currently have a 1 Hopper, 2 Joey setup. It's not connected to the internet, though I do have a sling adapter that I've been afraid to attempt to install.

Can I just disconnect the existing Joeys and add the other two, one at a time, so that the Hopper finds them and then pair up the remotes? (Understanding, of course, that I will need to call Dish to have them activated on the account and get RA's on the two leased units).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have to ask why you purchased two Joeys to replace two leased Joeys! It will cost you exactly the same amount of money, $14, either way.....

Persumably so that he or she can activate/deactivate as needed, rather than having to send the receivers back each time he or she deactivates, and waiting for Dish to send out new ones when he or she reactivates again.

Actually, they were gifted to me when the Dish Retailorship closed due to the death of the owner. Are you serious that adding ones that you own don't eliminate the monthly charges for additional receivers? I was the office manager and never found that in the fine print...

Each Joey is $7 per month, it does not matter if they are leased or owned.

sell the joeys you were gifted. That's about the only way to get any benefit.

guest rooms, exceeding lease limits, or dealing with dish upgrade hassles. All good reasons to buy a joey.

In the OP's case, mirroring is the best way to cut down on Joey fees. That's what I did to drop down to 2H/1J and still serve 4 TVs. (of course mirroring won't work for households where you need independent viewing)
