I am a bit confused, either there are several manufacturers of this SuperPowerJack or the manufacturer has lowered the quality of the units, just look at the huge difference between your QARL and the other QARL inside, the other QARL got a a real limit switcher, gasket, cable connector in the housing etc etc...

Anyone got a explanation what's going on here?

I would like to thank you for the information in this thread. I had exactly the same problem. My actuator was loosing counts only in winter and cold days, even though in southern Greece the winter is not so cold. My actuator is a Jaeger 24" that I have it since 1999 (11 years). The last 3-4 years, every winter it was loosing counts and I always had to resync my vbox ii positioner. I ordered a Superjack reed switch from Jaeger Superjack Actuator Reed Switch and replaced the one in the actuator (the reed switch replaced had "Geotrack" logo on it). Now my dish moves from far east to far west without loosing not even one count. A simple 5$ replacement and the actuator is again as new.
