Redray 4K player now shipping

Red has taken one step to rectify that, as it's finally started shipping it's Redray media player, which can send a native 4K (4,096 × 2,160) or up-converted HDTV signal to your UHDTV.

Ouch they estimate the projector price at $10k...

I do not see paying big bucks for a technology that has nothing to play on it,no 4k movies,no 4k disc player,etc. I remember when I bought my first 1080i tube HD TV(27" Samsung CRT). The only problem that I had was that the only thing I had to play on it was a SD cable STB & a 480p progressive scan DVD player. I did eventually buy a HD OTA STB which I could only get 3 channels(barely) using an indoor antenna.

Odemax and Red player are now live. Looks like independent/student films for now. Too bad they don't have Amazing Spiderman and all those other movies that were shot using RED.
