Red Horizonal line going down screen

Hi guys not sure if this gets posted here or if there is a tv problem area. But any advice would be appreciated. I have a 42 inch Samsung tv with a Horizonal line in red (changes colors) about four inches off the right side of the tv

Any thoughts

Sounds like a problem with one of the vertical lines of pixels in the panel.

Is it present regardless of the source?
If you switch to Blu-ray or DVD connected to a different HDMI input do you see the same problem?

Call the repairman (not being a smartass). Most likely gonna be a board or panel replacement.

Is this on component video by chance? If it is it could be that the Pr cable has a ground loop. That would cause a horizontal line moving down the screen. If that's the case, flip PR/PB and see if the line changes color. If it does, it's a ground loop. Oh, and the picture will look really weird when you do this

This made me literally laugh out loud. The visual is perfect.

Back to the question at hand. The question about it being present on all inputs is the most important as that can eliminate potential issues. Change out one thing at a time (cable, input source, any AV receiver or switch between the source) until you find out if it is the TV or something else.

Yeah...it happens on all sources, connected to HDMI so I am thinking may not be worth fixing But we have some other priorities so a new tv is not right now in the budget so I will check to see what cost may be for repair
