OTHER Recommendation for dish motor?

A couple of things to consider; What is the shaft size of the motor? Is it the same as the pole on your dish. Most fixed mount dishes have the mount low on the dish vs dishes that are meant to be motorized. So will your dish hang from the motor as intended or would you need the motor to be mounted upside down so the shaft is pointed up?

I might be making the leap here. I do have some questions though. So far, I've seen these 2 mentioned:
Priced similarly. Which do people prefer? Others?

Also, is the mount the same? Will these work for my HughesNet dish? Is there a standard (such as VESA for monitors) for these things?
Appears both motors you mentioned have a 42mm shaft. I have been using my STAB HH100 for about 8 years without issue. Not having any experience with the SP-120 my vote would be for the STAB HH90.

I'll climb up on my roof this weekend and take some pictures of the back. I have it setting up there on a stand I built, not visible from below, so the HOA doesn't freak out!

I recently replaced my old motor with a STAB HH90. My old one was similar to the SP-120.

I took some pictures of the back of my dish. Is this standard for a motor to work?

In my opinion, not a good candidate for mounting on a motor. The theaded elevation adjustment will likely be in the way and need to be removed. Also, quite a bit of unnecessary bulk and the balance point moved far forward from the mount. Adds considerable strain to the motor.

Maybe it would with with a Stab 120 if one could be found? Don't they mount the dish above the motor rather than below it?

I would just spend the $99 to get a 90cm GeoSat Pro dish. It pairs well with a motor. Keep the Hughes dish parked as a separate, 2nd dish.
You ripped the thought from my head. Though I'm the first to use what I have, this is way too much consideration and work for the little expense required to get a shiny new dish that will work better in the end anyway.

Don't see any dish/LNBF/Motor combo deals anymore. Too bad if you were getting all three anyway would likely save some shipping at least.
Also if you are going to use a second dish you will want a DISEqC switch. 4-port is good then you have room for more! :)
There is always more...

No disrespect intended, but where can you get the Geosatpro 36" 90CM Dish for $99? I think you will have to spend a bit more than that to get that dish, and i think the pricing is only going to go up on that item unfortunately. Just my humble opinion. That said, it is a GREAT dish. Just so happens to be about the only 90cm dish available as well.

That's what I paid from Satelliteav's Ebay store, but it was 3 years ago...
