Hello guys, I have a little bit of a problem. When i first bought my direct tv service about 8 months ago, I decided to get a primary reciever with dvr and 4 other recievers with seperate programming so that every tv we have has its own programming. Now I realize I have no need for this and am wondering how I would go about trying to "get rid of" the recievers and the programming on them. Im planning on only having 3 now. Will I get billed for this? Or how do i cancel the programming on them. Im worried that i will get screwed by some underwriting in small print or something. Also is there a way to switch from dvr to hd without getting billed for cancelling the dvr?

My main questions again are will I get billed for not wanting programming on 2 of the recievers anymore?.....Is it possible to go from dvr to hd without getting jipped or ripped off?

Have you called Directv and asked them?

You aren't being billed for programming on each receiver, just to have your programming package mirrored to the other receivers. Just call DirecTV and remove the unneeded receivers from your account. This will save you the mirroring fee on those.

You will have to return the deactivated receivers and I would expect a lease upgrade fee to get the HD receiver there will also be a $9.99 fee for HD programming and there might be a fee to upgrade to the "Slimline dish". CALL DIRECTV AND GET THERE COST OFFICIALLY:)
