Recent threads on homepage

I think we used to display 10 most recent threads. We are now down to 5 with the new software, and I don't think this is really enough for someone just browsing for updates. I note that there is a lot of left over real estate below the recent threads field.

Is it easy to bump this back up?

Look under the news section, there is a new java thing that live-updates with the latest 10 posts - pretty cool for what you're talking about doing.

I think the live update is rather annoying. it flys by too fast to use. I prefer the 10 latest threads listed on the side
