You will need a DVB-S FTA receiver for FTA; however, if you are on a tight budget there are many good used receivers available from ebay for a low cost. Just make sure you get one that has a good blind scan. You are welcome to ask on this forum for advise on what used receivers to look for.
You will also need a 76 CM dish or bigger with a linear LNB for FTA on the Ku band. Much larger dishes are required for C-band but the Ku would be an excellent starting point.
